The Viking Seine River Cruise: Paris and the Heart of Normandy is an 8-day cruise that takes you from Paris to Paris, with stops along the way to explore some of the most iconic and historic destinations in France. As an Expert Seine River Cruise Travel Agent, we work with clients to add VIP touches throughout the experience from our first planning phone call through your return home (and likely your next cruise!)
Your cruise begins in Paris, the City of Lights. On your first day, you’ll have a chance to explore the city at your own pace. You can visit the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, the Notre Dame Cathedral, or any of the other many world-famous attractions that Paris has to offer. Getting a private tour of the Louvre allows you to see the highlights, learn details otherwise untold, and maximize your visit experience.
Your cruise continues to Rouen, the capital of the Normandy region. Rouen is a beautiful city with a rich history. You’ll have a chance to visit the Rouen Cathedral, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in the world. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the Joan of Arc Historical Center, which tells the story of the French heroine who was burned at the stake in Rouen in 1431.
On your fourth day, you’ll visit the village of Giverny, where the famous Impressionist painter Claude Monet lived and worked. You’ll have the opportunity to visit Monet’s former home and gardens, which were the inspiration for many of his masterpieces. Upon your return to Paris you can visit Water Lilies at Musee de l’Orangerie – sitting on a bench in front of the incredible and massive paintings for a truly immersive experience.
Your cruise continues to Honfleur, a charming port town on the Normandy coast. Honfleur is known for its picturesque harbor and its narrow, cobblestone streets. You’ll have a chance to explore the town at your own pace or take a guided tour of the local attractions.
