So you’re thinking about going to Italy for your honeymoon? That’s amazing – it’s one of our absolutely favorite destinations to plan!
When it comes to “where to stay in Italy for your honeymoon,” most couples will spend a few nights here and a few there – like Rome, Venice, Florence, etc. But for many, having a coastal component is key! Amalfi coast pops to the top of the list, and for good reason – it’s gorgeous!
Some of the towns can be a bit difficult to reach, so we often work with couples who want to plan a day visit to places like Positano. For those clients, Sorrento is at the top of the list for where to stay. It’s this incredibly charming town with these unbelievable cliffside views of the Mediterranean.
When you imagine your Italy honeymoon- if you’re picturing strolling hand-in-hand along cobblestone streets, soaking up some sunshine while smelling the sea air – all with a backdrop of gorgeous scenery – then Sorrento would be a wonderful place to stay in Italy for your honeymoon – total romance!
Sorrento offers some pretty incredible hotels. It has everything from 4 and 5-star historic hotels offering exceptional accommodations and concierge services to boutique hotels with stylish rooms – and many even offer a private balcony overlooking the Mediterranean or a garden with lemon trees. There are options for every budget and most of them are centrally located, making it easy to get to local restaurants, the shore, or event a marina for a boating excursion – all things our honeymooners have LOVED!
While you may not be staying in Positano, that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on seeing it and experiencing it while you’re on your Italian honeymoon! You can take day trips by land or by sea (our favorite way to see the villages built into the cliffs) to see the iconic towns that dot the Amalfi coast. And, if you’re staying in Sorrento, you can also take a day trip to Capri and the blue grotto – both are can’t miss options!
Do you consider yourself a foodie? If so, Sorrento won’t disappoint. There are incredible restaurants offering the best of local flavors like spaghetti al limone – or fresh seafood. And what’s better is the view from some of the exquisite restaurants. And don’t forget to enjoy a sip (or two!!) Of limoncello. These are just some of the reasons that we suggest that our Italy Honeymoon clients visit Sorrento on their multi-stop Italian Honeymoon!
